Number of Covid-19 infections grows in 16 municipalities over past week
RIGA, May 30 (LETA) - Over the past week, the number of Covid-19 infections has increased in 16 municipalities, according to the data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Kraslava municipality on Sunday reported 82 residents who have got Covid-19 infection in the past 14 days, which is by almost 60 percent more than a week ago.
The number of Covid-19 infections has increased by more than 30 percent in Balvi municipality and Rezekne - 42 cases and 49 cases respectively.
Other municipalities reported lower increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases.
Riga saw the number of new Covid-19 cases drop by 9 percent to 811.
The highest two-week incidence level was registered in Kraslava municipality - 382.1 cases per 100,000 residents, followed by Preili municipality with 238.7 cases and Balvi municipality - with 220.9 cases.
The average incidence in Latvia has dropped to 125.1 cases per 100,000 residents, while 17 municipalities reported Covid-19 incidence higher than average in the country.
In total in Latvia, 2,368 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the past two weeks.
