Heating tariffs to increase significantly in Salacgriva and Liepupe as of November
RIGA, Sept 28 (LETA) - EcoHeat Latvia heating utility is planning to significantly increase heating tariffs in the town of Salacgriva and Liepupe village as of November, according to the company's revised tariff plan published in the government gazette Latvijas Vestnesis.
According to EcoHeat Latvia, heating tariff in Liepupe will increase 46.29 percent to EUR 154.29 per megawatt-hour (MWh), without value added tax (VAT).
On the other hand, heating tariff in Salacgriva will rise 66.85 percent November 1, amounting to EUR 125.39 per MWh, without VAT.
The company explains that the increase in the tariffs is due to rising prices of woodchips.
According to Firmas.lv, EcoHeat Latvia turnover last year stood at EUR 0.78 million, while the company's losses amounted to EUR 2,183. The company's share capital is EUR 2,840, its sole owner is Steel Pro Energy Holdings.
