Large Cities Association calls on government to clarify sources of financing for organization of vaccination centers' work
RIGA, April 9 (LETA) - The Latvian Large Cities Association is calling on the government to clarify the sources of financing for organization of the vaccination center's operation, the association informed LETA.
This is not the first time the Large Cities Association is urging the government not to make local governments pay the entire cost of the vaccination center's work.
"Vaccination centers have been operating successfully since April 1. Local governments have been heavily involved in organization of the vaccination centers' work, but it is still unclear who and in what amount will compensate the cost" of the vaccination centers' operation, said the association's executive director and MP Viktors Valainis (Greens/Farmers).
The Large Cities Association expresses support for Health Minister Daniels Pavluts' (For Development/For) activities, and repeatedly urges the government to make a decision on the source of financing for the vaccination centers' operation.
"Unfortunately, the government has postponed reviewing the matter for a second time," commented Valainis.
The association believes that the vaccination centers must be financed from the state budget.
