Riga, Dec 19 (LETA) - The municipality of Aluksne will purchase eight transport vehicles for EUR 247,977, the lawmakers of the municipal council decided on Thursday.

The vehicles will be delivered in 2025 by Inchcape Motors Latvia.

This expenditure will be included in next year's budget.

At the local council meeting, Ingus Berkulis, executive director of the municipality, explained that an inventory of the municipality's car fleet had been carried out and a decision had been taken to gradually replace the cars so as not to spend large financial resources on car repairs. New electric cars will be purchased for cultural, sports and social assistance institutions, but the council has also decided to purchase cars with internal combustion engines.

Berkulis informed that in order to ensure the functions, cars will be purchased for the municipal administration, municipal company Spodra, the agency managing the lakes and rivers in the municipality Alja and the Social Affairs Authority, which will be adapted for transporting clients.

Aluksne Hospital will buy one car from its own funds and two more cars will be bought for the water management company Rupe, informed the executive director.

According to Firmas.lv, the turnover of Inchcape Motors Latvia last year was EUR 140.47 million, while the profit was EUR 4.40 million. The company's share capital is EUR 28.23 million. The company is owned by Inchcape International group B.V.

Inchcape Motors Latvia represents Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, MINI, BMW Motorrad, Ford, Mazda and, from 2022, the new Bravoauto used car brand.
