Russian hard-discount grocer Mere planning to open four more stores in regions
RIGA, Oct 11 (LETA) - Russian Hard-discount grocery store Mere plans to open four more stores in Latvia's regions, LETA learned from the company's development manager in Latvia Artjoms Volkovs.
He said that at present Mere operates five stores in Latvia, three of them in Riga, one in Tukums and one in Ogre. In the nearest time, the company plans to open stores in Liepaja, Daugavpils, Jekabpils and Jelgava.
Volkovs said that Latprodukti company, representing Mere chain in Latvia, still is actively looking for premises for new stores.
As reported, the first Mere store in Latvia opened on Spilves Street in Riga on March 13.
Russia's retail chain Svetofor operates Mere stores in Europe. Mere now runs more than 2,000 stores in Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Romania. In Russia, Belarus and Kazskahstan the company operates under the name of Svetofor.
Svetofor belongs to Torgservis company whose key owner is the Schneider family.
Latprodukti was registered in 2020 and has a share capital of EUR 200,000.
