Four hospitals report high occupancy of Covid-19 beds
RIGA, March 24 (LETA) - At present, four hospitals report high occupancy of Covid-19 beds, according to the data submitted to the government by the Emergency Medical Service.
97 percent of Covid-19 beds are occupied in Ludza medicine center, 96 percent in Balvi hospital, and increase of bed occupancy is related with a steep rise of UK Covid-19 strain in the region.
Rezekne and Dobele hospitals reported that three fourths of Covid-19 beds are occupied.
The lowest occupancy was reported in Riga Hospital No. 1 (4 percent) and Aizkraukle hospital (5 percent).
The average Covid-19 bed occupancy in all hospitals treating adult Covid-19 patients is 54 percent compared to 63 percent a week ago. Early this week, there were 1,212 beds available for Covid-19 patients.
