Ten municipalities report Covid-19 incidence exceeding Latvia's average number
RIGA, Jan 14 (LETA) - Municipalities around the capital city Riga - Marupe, Adazi - continue to show the highest Covid-19 incidence rates in Latvia, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose to 1,157.5.
In Marupe, the incidence rate is more than twice as high as Latvia's average and has increased to 2,437.2 over the past day. Covid-19 incidence in Adazi has reached 2,134 cases per 100,000 population.
In ten municipalities, Covid-19 incidence currently exceeds Latvia's average number.
Meanwhile, the lowest Covid-19 incidence has been reported in the eastern Latvian municipalities of Varaklani, Livani, Ludza, Kraslava Rezekne.
Of the 2,628 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 44 percent, or 1,148 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
