Riga, June 8 (LETA) - Latvia's Green Party, represented by the incumbent mayor Raivis Ragainis, has won the most votes in the municipal elections in Jekabpils municipality, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).

Counting the votes in all 33 polling stations in Jekabpils, the Latvia's Green Party received 29.15 percent of the votes, which allows it to win seven seats in the regional council.

The joint list of the Latvian Association of Regions, the New Conservative Party and the party Unity is in second place with 15.75 percent of the votes and will receive four seats.

At the same time, 13.81 percent of support went to Latvia First, which won three seats in the regional council.

The National Alliance received 7.96 percent of the votes and will win two seats in the council.

Jekabpils Regional Party won 6.92 percent of the votes and two seats in the regional council.

Platforma 21 finishes with 6.71 percent of the votes and one seat.

The other parties in Jekabpils have not overcome the 5 percent barrier at the moment.

As reported, the counting of votes in the 2025 municipal elections is facing technical problems, so it could take longer in many places.
