RIGA, March 8 (LETA) - During joint project Historic Road: Raudondvaris – Bauska, Latvia's Bauska and Lithuania's Kaunas wish to increase the number of tourists in the fall and winter season, LETA learned from Bauska Castle Museum representative Ruta Garklava.

The goal of the project is to increase the number of tourists in Kaunas and Bauska regions during the fall and winter season, organizing art, education and sports activities. 

The aspiration is to attract visitors with different interests (cultural and active leisure enthusiasts (including youth), history and heritage lovers). All foreseen activities are oriented to increase attractiveness of historic and cultural heritage of partner regions.

The total funding for the project for Raudondvaris Manor and Bauska Castle is EUR 785,875,  including EUR 667,994 from the European Regional Development Fund. Funding for Bauska municipality is EUR 384,500, including EUR 326,825 from the European Regional Development Fund, EUR 19,225 from the government budget and EUR 38,450 from the municipal budget.
