RIGA, March 30 (LETA) - On Thursday, April 1, a fee of two euros will once again be in force for entering Jurmala by car, moreover, this year it will not be possible to pay by cash at the ticket machines in Priedaine and Vaivari, Zane Leite, Head of the Public Relations Department of Jurmala City Council, informed LETA.
It will be possible to pay at ticket machines only with a card or contactless means of payment - mobile phone, bracelet, smartwatch, etc.
According to Leite, cash payments upon entering the resort city were abolished in order to facilitate the purchase of quicker payment options. Cash payments often cause delays at entry points - coins tend to get stuck, and sometimes unsuitable items are thrown into vending machines, as a result of which vending machines temporarily stop working.
It will still be possible to pay for the entry passes by cash at the ticket machines in by Rimi supermarket in Lielupe, at the Dzintari Concert Hall, in the Majori parking lot and at the Dubulti station.
The municipality invites drivers to purchase passes electronically on the portal www.visitjurmala.lv or through the Mobilly app.
The entry pass can also be paid for after entering the city, only it should be noted that the pass must be purchased on the date when the vehicle entered Jurmala, until 23:59, or before.
With one daily pass, vehicles can enter the special resort area an unlimited number of times on the date for which the pass was purchased. It is important to remember that the vehicle registration number must be clearly stated when purchasing the pass. The pass is valid only for a specific vehicle, the registration number of which is indicated when purchasing the pass.
