RIGA, Nov 25 (LETA) - Ukrainian refugees in Latvia will be allowed to use Riga's public transport free of charge until June 30, 2025, Riga City Council's Traffic and Transport Committee agreed on Monday.

Currently, Riga City Council's rules stipulate that Ukrainian civilians in Latvia may use Riga public transport free of charge as long as the Law on Assistance to Ukrainian Civilians is in force and until December 31 this year at the latest.

Ukrainian civilians registered with Riga support center for Ukrainian nationals who have emigrated from Ukraine or who are unable to return to Ukraine because of the war may use Riga public transport free of charge.

The final decision on extending free public transport for Ukrainian refugees in Riga will be taken at a meeting of the Riga City Council.
