RIGA, July 16 (LETA) - Last night in Ukraine, the chairman of Ogre Region, Egils Helmanis (National Alliance), was wounded during an attack, Patriks Griva, the head of the municipality's Communications Department, told LETA.

Sources in Ukraine told the municipality that the mayor's health condition was stable.

Griva informed that Helmanis has been on a working trip in Ukraine since the end of last week, carrying about 20 cars filled with aid for the residents of Ukraine. "The exact number of cars and destination in Ukraine is revealed after the cargo has reached its destination. This is done with the intention that the information does not reach the enemies," explained Griva.

He informed that Helmanis travels every few months with aid cargo for the Ukrainian army and population.

Griva has no information of other municipal employees who have traveled with Helmanis this time, as has been the case in the past.
