3,624 Ukrainian kids admitted to schools in Latvia
RIGA, April 22 (LETA) - A total of 3,624 Ukrainian refugee children have so far been admitted to schools in Latvia, LETA was told at the Ministry of Education and Science.
Of these kids, 1,825 have been admitted to schools in Riga, schools in Ventspils have enrolled 162 children and schools in the Valmiera municipality have admitted 154 Ukrainian children.
In all, 2,642 Ukrainian children have enrolled at comprehensive schools. Of these kids, 1,294 have been admitted in ethnic minorities education programs and 1,343 in Latvian-language programs. Five students have been admitted to an education institution of a different category.
A total of 982 Ukrainian kids are attending preschools, with 324 of them enrolled in ethnic minorities programs, 654 learning in Latvian and four attending preschools of other categories.
