Latvia can ensure vaccination of 90,000-105,000 people a week

RIGA, Jan 7 (LETA) - Latvia can ensure vaccination of 90,000-105,000 people a week, said Vaccination Project Department head Eva Juhnevica in a press conference today.
She said that in addition to vaccination in medical institutions and practices of family physicians, the most efficient vaccination forms are prioritized. The National Health Service this week is organizing operation of vaccination centers in Riga and other municipalities.
There are two large vaccination centers in Riga, 13 centers in municipalities, and ten others are about to open.
Also, mobile vaccination points are visiting regions and rural municipalities - in January at least 136 towns and rural territories will be visited.
So far, 67.38 percent of Latvian residents have completed the immunization process, while 70.04 percent have received at least the first vaccine dose or the Johnson&Johnson vaccine.
Meanwhile, almost 15.46 percent of residents have received the booster shot, which is helping to maintain the current vaccination rate.
