    Border guards detain Moldovan and Ukrainian citizens with forged documents

    RIGA, Aug 18 (LETA) - Border guards in eastern Latgale region detained Moldovan and Ukrainian citizens with forged documents, LETA learned from the State Border Guard.

    At Terehova border control point, a Moldovan citizen presented a forged Russian driver's license, while at Grebneva border crossing point, a Ukrainian citizen presented a forged Ukrainian driver's license.

    Criminal procedure have been launched for use of counterfeit documents.

    Two Ukrainian citizens were not allowed to enter Latvia at Terehova border crossing point because they did not have valid visas or residence permits.

    Carrying out immigration control in the country, 13 people were caught violating travel or residence regulations - three Lithuania, two Estonia, two Finnish, two Tajik, two Uzbek and two Russian citizens.
