RIGA, May 27 (LETA) - The market of parcel machines in Latvia is not yet saturated, and Omniva still sees a potential in the market, said Omniva head Beate Krauze-Cebotare in an interview with LETA.

She said that Omniva supervisory board recently approved placing additional 92 parcel machines in Latvia.

"Of course, not only Omniva sees this, there are also other companies in Latvia - DPD, Venipak, who are expanding their parcel machine network in Latvia," she said.

Krauze-Cebotare said that there are still many towns in Latvia where there are no parcel machines, for example, Mazsalaca, Ape, Nica, Cesvaine. 

The company representative said that, in her opinion, the parcel machine network in Riga is not sufficient yet. There are parcel machines with 150 boxes, for example, but there are days when 450 parcels should be delivered to this machine.

Of the 92 new parcel machines, at least 20-30 will be places in Riga and Pieriga, while others - in other Latvian cities, including such places where there had been no parcel machines earlier.

In 2020, Omniva posted EUR 12.278 million in turnover while the company's profit was EUR 2.366 million.

Omniva was established in 2012, and its share capital is EUR 2,945. Omniva belongs to Estonian postal company Eesti Post.
