Ragainis re-elected chairman of Jekabpils Region Council
RIGA, June 26 (LETA) - On Thursday, Raivis Ragainis (Latvian Green Party) was re-elected chairman of Jekabpils Region Council.
No other candidates were nominated for the post.
Ragainis was elected head of Jekabpils Region Council by fifteen votes to three.
As reported, the Green Party took 29.15 percent of the vote in Jekabpils Region, winning seven seats on the council.
The joint list of the Latvian Association of Regions, the New Conservative Party and the party Unity placed second with 15.75 percent of the vote and four seats on the council, followed by Latvia First with three seats, National Alliance and Jekabpils Regional Party with two seats each, and Platforma 21 with one seat.
