Second family of triplets born in Riga this year will also receive one-off benefit of EUR 15,000
Riga, April 8 (LETA) - The Welfare Ministry will pay a one-off social allowance of EUR 15,000 to the second family of triplets born in Riga this year, the government approved on Tuesday.
The benefit will be paid to Anastasija Bickovska. The parents are from Riga, so the family will also receive a one-off allowance of EUR 7,500 from the Riga City Council.
In April, the second set of triplets were born in Latvia this year - two boys and one girl - at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital (PSKUS). In March, triplets - three girls - were also welcomed at the Riga Maternity Hospital.
Since 1993, a one-off material support of EUR 15,000 has been provided to families with triplets.
In 2013, this one-off benefit was paid to one family, in 2014 - to five families, in 2015 - to three families, and in 2016 - to two families. In 2017, two families received the benefit, in 2018, four families, and in 2019, one family.
In both 2020 and 2021, it was paid to one family, in 2023 - to three families, but last year no such benefit was paid.
