    National Alliance wins local elections in Bauska municipality

    Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The National Alliance, represented by the incumbent chairman of the municipal council Aivars Okmanis, has won the municipal elections in Bauska, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).

    Counting the votes in all 24 polling stations in Bauska municipality, the National Alliance received 33.69 percent of the votes, winning seven seats. The second place with 16.01 percent of the votes goes to the New Unity, which receives three seats. The third place with 14.28 percent of the votes went to For Latvia's Development party, also receiving three seats.

    The New Conservative Party won 12.12 percent of the votes and two seats in the municipal elections, the United List won 9.25 percent and two seats, and the Union of Greens and Farmers won 7.73 percent and two seats.

    The other parties in Bauska municipality have not overcome the 5 percent barrier.
