Eleven ballot envelopes cast at polling station 203 in Jelgava and ten envelopes at polling station 783 in Sigulda Region turned out to be without the necessary stamps. At polling station 767 in Salaspils Region the number of valid ballot slips exceeded the number of envelopes by three .
The Central Election Commission reported the irregularities to the State Security Service and asked local election officials from the respective municipalities to provide explanations about the situation.
In accordance with the local elections law, unstamped ballot envelopes are deemed invalid. Also, if a valid ballot envelope contains more than one ballot slip and their content is different, the envelope is deemed invalid.
