Adazi municipality might accommodate about 300 refugees from Ukraine
RIGA, Feb 25 (LETA) - Adazi municipality would be ready to receive about 300 refugees from Ukraine, said Adazi Mayor Maris Sprindzuks (Latvian Association of Regions) after the municipal civil defense committee meeting today.
The committee members voiced support to refugees and were looking for solutions for accommodation, schools and workplaces in the municipality.
According to initial estimates, Adazi might be able to accommodate about 300 Ukrainians, provide school for 300 children and at least 100 work places at once.
The local government will continue work to address local residents and business representatives to receive refugees from Ukraine.
As reported, Russia invaded Ukraine early Thursday morning.
