Riga City Council increases co-funding for private kindergartens
RIGA, Jan 14 (LETA) - The Riga City Council education, culture and sports committee lawmakers today supported the proposal to increase the municipal co-funding for private kindergartens in Riga, LETA learned from the Riga City Council.
In 2021, the Riga City Council will ensure co-funding at the amount of EUR 266.69 per each child of the age of 1.5-4 years, and EUR 199,63 per each child of the preschool age (5-7 years). Previously the co-funding amounted to EUR 250.61 and EUR 188.71 respectively).
The Riga City Council also reminds that co-funding to the private kindergartens are paid at the full amount also for children who are not attending kindergartens during the state of emergency, while the kindergartens have not suspended provision of the services.
The final decision should be made by the Riga City Council.
