Union of Greens and Farmers to have two co-chairmen - Tavars and Krauze
RIGA, July 28 (LETA) - The Union of Greens and Farmers in a meeting decided to introduce changes in its statutes, and in the future the party will have two chairpersons - the chairmen of the Latvian Farmers' Union (LZS) and Latvia's Green Party (LZP) - both forming the Union of Greens and Farmers, said Greens/Farmers representative Dace Karklina.
So far, the chairman of Greens/Farmers was elected every two years by a meeting formed of both parties. LZP leader Edgars Tavars had been the leader of Greens/Farmers for the past two years.
In the future, Tavars and LZS board chairman Armands Krauze will be co-chairmen of Greens/Farmers.
Greens/Farmers is formed by two parties - LZS and LZP, but the union has cooperation agreement signed with For Latvia and Ventspils party and Liepaja Party.
