New company registrations in Latvia up 9% in H1
RIGA, July 7 (LETA) - In the first six months of 2025, a total of 5,096 new companies were registered in Latvia, which is 9 percent or 421 companies more than in the first half of 2024, according to the latest Lursoft report.
In June, 737 new companies were registered, which is 106 companies fewer than this past May and 90 companies more than in June 2024.
In January-June, 4,448 companies were liquidated, which means that the actual number of Latvian companies has increased by 648 companies.
The number of new companies registered in June is the lowest number of companies registered in one month this year. Most companies this year were registered in January - 926 companies.
The total share capital of companies registered in June was EUR 31.84 million - a new record high for 2025.
Four new companies registered last month each have a share capital of more than EUR 1 million: company PSV Group has a share capital of more than EUR 17 million, Artilerijas 55 - EUR 5.06 million, Miera 22 - EUR 5.4 million, and BM Kliversala has a share capital of more than EUR 1 million.
According to Lursoft, 89.4 percent of all companies registered in June are limited liability companies, while 9.23 percent are sole proprietorships.
60.55 percent of new limited liability companies registered in June have a share capital of less than EUR 2,800. One limited liability company, Juridiskie Pakalpojumi KARA in Smiltene Region, has a share capital of EUR 0.01.
Besides Riga, where 340 new companies were registered in June, most new companies were registered in Marupe Region last month (27 companies). 26 new companies were registered in Ogre Region, 24 in Jurmala, 23 in Valmiera Region, 22 in Daugavpils, 20 in Jelgava, 18 in Cesis Region, 16 in Ropazi Region, and 15 in Sigulda Region.
