National Alliance plans to run for local elections in all municipalities
Riga, Dec 15 (LETA) - The National Alliance plans to run for local elections in all 43 Latvian municipalities, the National Alliance's spokesperson Laima Melkina told LETA.
In the last municipal elections in 2021, 107 lawmakers were elected in 37 municipalities, making the National Alliance one of the most geographically represented parties, the party said at its congress on Sunday. In several municipalities, not only a victory was achieved, but also more than half of the seats at local councils.
National Alliance's President Raivis Dzintars emphasized that the National Alliance has so far achieved one of the highest representation of local government lawmakers in Latvia. The National Alliance's regional teams are aware of the party's core values and can count on the strong support of the entire party in achieving goals that are important to the residents of the regions.
The party's annual congress unveiled most of the leaders of the lists for the 2025 local elections.
While each municipality and city has its own needs, the task of the municipal lawmaker will be to build an efficient and cooperative administration that contributes to the well-being of society. The National Alliance will always be on the guard of national values and will pay special attention to support for seniors and families with children.
NA has 37 regional units and more than 1,000 members across Latvia.
