Students in grades 1-4 to be allowed going to school in 47 municipalities next week
RIGA, March 24 (LETA) - Effective next week, students in grades 1-4 will be allowed to go to school in 47 municipalities, or in 11 municipalities more than this week, according to the latest data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Compared to last week, Aloja, Amata, Beverina, Dundaga, Garkalne, Karsava, Koknese, Ligatne, Malpils, Rauna, Salacgriva, Talsi, Valka and Ventspils regions have been added to the list of epidemiologically safe local governments, as well as Ventspils and Valmiera.
In the meantime, Aglona, Jekabpils, Mersrags, Pargauja and Rujiena regions have been removed from the list.
The following local governments currently meet the Education and Science Ministry's criterion of no more than 250 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents over the past fourteen days: Aizpute, Aloja, Alsunga, Amata, Ape, Auce, Beverina, Burtnieki, Cesis, Dundaga, Durbe, Garkalne, Iecava, Jaunjelgava, Jaunpiebalga, Kandava, Karsava, Koceni, Koknese, Krustpils, Ligatne, Mazsalaca, Malpils, Nica, Pavilosta, Plavinas, Priekuli, Rauna, Ropazi, Rucava, Rundale, Salacgriva, Saulkrasti, Skriveri, Skrunda, Strenci, Talsi, Tervete, Valka, Varkava, Vecpiebalga, Vecumnieki, Ventspils and Viesites regions, as well as three cities: Jekabpils, Valmiera and Ventspils.
The new list of local governments where in-person school attendance will be allowed for students in grades 1-4 will come into force on March 29.
