Joint list of four parties of incumbent chairperson wins elections in Rezekne municipality
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The joint list of the New Unity, Movement For!, Latgale Party and the New Conservative Party has won the municipal elections in Rezekne municipality, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).
Counting the votes in all 33 polling stations in Rezekne, the four-party list, which is represented in the current term of the regional council by the chairperson of the municipality, Monvids Svarcs, who is not running this time, received 17.33 percent support. This gives the list three seats on the council.
The second party with 15.17 percent of the votes is Together for Latvia, which will receive two seats.
At the same time, the Union of Greens and Farmers won 12.1 percent of the votes, getting two seats.
The party For Latvia's Development won 10.75 percent of the votes and two seats in the regional council.
The Latvian Association of Regions won 9.95 percent of the votes and two seats on the council.
The National Alliance won 9.72 percent of the votes and two seats. Latvia's Green Party won 7.75 percent of the votes and one seat. Latvia First won 7.74 percent of the votes and one seat.
The other parties in Rezekne municipality have not overcome the 5 percent barrier.
