Almost all beds re-profiled for Covid-19 patients are occupied at Tukums and Balvi hospitals
RIGA, Jan 11 (LETA) - In Tukums and Balvi hospitals, almost all beds re-profiled for Covid-19 patients are occupied, according to the information gathered for the government meeting by the Ministry of Health (VM).
100 percent of re-profiled intensive therapy beds are occupied at Balvi Hospital, 86 percent at Tukums Hospital, 81 percent at Riga East Clinical University Hospital, 80 percent at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital, and 64 percent at Jelgava Hospital.
The VM indicates that the number of Covid-19 beds has been increased by 10 percent during the past week - from 874 to 957. Covid-19 patients are additionally being treated in specialized hospitals. There was an increase in the total bed load of Covid-19 patients last week.
The occupancy of intensive care beds in these hospitals has not changed significantly however, as 65 percent of intensive care beds are occupied at the moment.
