Covid-19 vaccination level low in Latgale and Zemgale
RIGA, May 13 (LETA) - Covid-19 vaccination level in Latgale and Zemgale currently is lower than average in Latvia, according to the presentation prepared by the Health Ministry.
According to the ministry's data, by Wednesday 22 percent of Latvian residents have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose, using up 422,492 doses in 865 vaccination rooms.
Across regions, 25.5 percent of residents have received at least one vaccine dose in Kurzeme, 24.9 percent in Riga, 23.5 percent in Vidzeme, 17.6 percent in Zemgale and 11.5 percent in Latgale.
In order to motivate residents of Latgale, mobile vaccination teams will be organized in cooperation with local governments in May and June.
So far, the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been administered to 347,482 people, and the vaccination process has been completed by 95,183 people.
The vaccination process is considered completed after receiving two doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine and one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
