Heating tariff in Kekava municipality to increase 4.6 times
RIGA, July 18 (LETA) - Heating tariff in Kekava Region will increase 4.6 times from August 1, amounting to EUR 181.14 per megawatt-hour (MWh), according to a statement printed in the government gazette Latvijas Vestnesis.
The tariff is made up of the heat generation component of EUR 148.95 per MWh, transmission and distribution component of EUR 28.27 per MWh, and the trade tariff of EUR 1.64 per MWh.
The new tariff will apply to customers in Kekava, Ramava, Katlakalns and Valdlauci.
Information on Kekavas Nami housing manager's website says that the tariff had to be hiked due to changes in natural gas prices. Kekavas Nami's previous contract with Latvijas Gaze natural gas utility expired on June 30.
According to LETA archives, the previous heating tariff of Kekavas Nami was one of the lowest in the country at EUR 39.64 per MWh.
