113 Ukrainian medics, dentists have received permission to work in Latvia
RIGA, Aug 11 (LETA) - 113 Ukrainian medics and dentists have received permissions to work in Latvia, Latvian Medical Association's spokeswoman Evija Ansonska reported.
In total 180 Ukrainian showed interest in receiving temporary permissions. Latvia is still the only country in Europe, allowing Ukrainian refugees to continue work in their medical profession.
The association ensures free of charge support in preparation of the necessary documents. In cooperation with the Society Integration Fund, Ukrainians are offered to learn the Latvian language that is necessary for work in health care sector.
Soon another 35 persons might receive permissions. They have submitted their applications, but the decision have not yet been finalized. And seven others will have to take some tests before permissions are issued.
Ukrainian medics and dentists are working in hospitals in Riga and regions, medical institutions, and also in the private sector.
