Crowd testing reveals Covid-19 in 6.09% of samples collected in Balvi region

RIGA, Mar 22 (LETA) - Crowd testing in the eastern Latvian municipality of Balvi last week revealed Covid-19 in 6.09 percent of all saliva samples collected from local residents in this area, LETA was told at the local government.

Test kits were distributed to local residents in the Balvi region on two days last week. In the two days, 640 saliva samples were sent for lab tests and 39 of them, or 6.09 percent, proved to be positive, while the results of 12 tests were found to be inconclusive.

Crowd testing in the Gulbene and Balvi regions has been carried out already earlier after a major Covid-19 outbreak in the area.
