Helmanis re-elected chairman of Ogre regional council
RIGA, July 1 (LETA) - The first meeting of the Ogre regional council re-elected Egils Helmanis (National Alliance) the chairman of the council
The decision was made with 21 votes to one, with one abstention.
The other candidate for the position was former deputy mayor of Ikskile region Mariss Martinsons (Latvian Alliance of Regions, LRA) who received two votes to 19, with two abstentions.
The united ticket of the National Alliance, the Union of Greens and Farmers and Latvia's Green Party won 13 seats out of 23 at the Ogre regional council. Five other parties - New Unity, Movement For, For Latvia's Development and Vidzeme Party, LRA, National Union Justice - won two seats each.
