11 hotels in Latvia available for self-isolation
RIGA, Jan 11 (LETA) - A total of 748 rooms in ten hotels in Riga and one in Ligatne are currently available for self-isolation and quarantine, but as of Monday, just 14 persons were self-isolating in hotel rooms, LETA was told at the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA).
The Bellevue Park Hotel Riga offers 100 rooms, the Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel and the Rija VEF Hotel offer 90 rooms. Another 71 rooms are available in the Rixwell Elefant Hotel, 56 rooms in the Rixwell Konventa Seta, 50 rooms in the Monika Centrum Hotel and 18 rooms in the Rixwell Terrace Design.
Also, 64 rooms are available for self-isolation in the Mercure Riga Centre4*, 10 rooms in the Primo Hotel and nine rooms in the Zeit Hotel in Ligatne.
The AC Hotel by Marriot Riga offers 190 rooms for self-isolation, but unlike the other hotels, it only offers rooms for over EUR 40 per night.
So far, the self-isolation service offered by Latvia's hotels has been used to 79 people, including 59 persons who returned to Latvia from the UK last week.
Covid-19 contact persons, Covid-19 patients with light symptoms and Covid-19 patients after treatment in hospital but who still has symptoms, as well as persons returning to Latvia with repatriation flights may receive self-isolate in the designated hotels.
As reported, for people who have been in contact with a Covid-19 positive person, Covid-19 patients with light symptoms, and Covid-19 patients who have been discharged from hospital but still have Covid-19 symptoms, the state will cover 80 percent of the accommodation cost, but not more than EUR 35 per day, while the person will have to cover the remaining 20 percent of the cost.
For persons who are repatriated to Latvia from Great Britain, the state covers 100 percent of the accommodation costs, but not more than EUR 45 per day.
According to the government's decision, support will be provided until March 2021, and up to EUR 2,173,500 will be allotted from the budget to provide the support.
