For Latvia and Ventspils could have gained most votes in Ventspils - exit polls
RIGA, June 7 (LETA) - For Latvia and Ventspils has most likely won the municipal elections in Ventspils, according to the results of an exit poll of citizens who have voted at local election polling stations in major cities conducted today by LETA in cooperation with the Latvian Public Media, Riga Stradins University and the University of Latvia.
According to the exit polls, For Latvia and Ventspils, the party of former mayor Aivars Lembergs, could have gained 50.5 percent of the vote.
The National Alliance gained 15.2 percent of the vote, followed by the United List with 11.1 percent support.
The joint list of For/New Unity could have got 8.8 percent of the vote, according to the exit polls.
Meanwhile, two other parties could have a chance of obtaining the necessary 5 percent threshold to enter the Ventspils City Council - Sovereign Power/New Latvians with 4.7 percent, and Harmony with 3.3 percent. Meanwhile, Latvia First could have gotten 1.7 percent of the vote.
41 percent of those polled did not given an answer who they voted for.
