Numbers of hospitalized Covid-19 patients differ across regions
RIGA, Nov 26 (LETA) - Numbers of Covid-19 patients in regional hospitals differ across the regions, according to data provided by hospitals.
Daugavpils Regional Hospital's board member Grigorijs Semjonovs told LETA that there were 56 Covid-19 patients at the hospital at the moment, including nine in serious condition, of which three were in the intensive care unit. The patients are 17 to 94 years old, most are 50 to 70 years old.
There are 100 beds for Covid-19 patients at the hospital. This number can be increased if necessary, said Semjonovs. Forty out of 1,500 hospital employees have also been diagnosed with Covid-19. According to Semjonovs, the hospital currently provides all services in full.
Jelgava Hospital's Chief Physician Solveiga Abola said that there were eighteen Covid-19 patients at the hospital today. There are twenty beds for Covid-19 patients at Jelgava Hospital. Nine out of the hospital's 500 employees have tested positive for Covid-19, Abola added.
The number of beds for Covid-19 patients at Northern Kurzeme Regional Hospital in Ventspils is 32, of which thirteen are occupied today, the hospital's public relations manager Santa Grinberga told LETA.
There are 28 beds for Covid-19 patients at Rezekne Hospital, of which eight are occupied at the moment, the hospital's spokeswoman Laura Sondore said.
At Liepaja Regional Hospital, there are 33 beds for Covid-19 patients. At the moment, there are nineteen Covid-19 patients at the hospital, as the hospital's public relations officer Indra Grase told LETA.
