    Jelgava local government to provide grants of up to EUR 10,000 to local entrepreneurs

    RIGA, July 23 (LETA) - As of August 2, entrepreneurs in the central Latvian city of Jelgava will be able to apply for grants of up to EUR 10,000 provided by the city's local government to various business projects, the local government's spokeswoman Liga Klismeta informed LETA. 

    The local government of Jelgava has earmarked EUR 100,000 in the municipal budget for this purpose.

    According to Klismeta, financial support to business projects in being provided for the second consecutive year as part of the program supporting business operators. 

    The grants are available to Jelgava-based entrepreneurs who have started their businesses no earlier than three years ago or who are developers of innovative products and services. 

    Last year, the Jelgava local government allocated EUR 74,955 to 16 projects after evaluating 79 applications.
