(w/CORR) Covid-19 cases growing in Tukums municipality

RIGA, July 8 (LETA) - The number of Covid-19 cases discovered in the municipality of Tukums has been growing since Monday, although the highest number of active cases (confirmed within the past 14 days) is still recorded in Riga, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The number of active Covid-19 cases in Tukums municipality has grown from 20 on Monday to 31 on Thursday, with eight new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Riga recorded 18 of the 50 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours. The number of active Covid-19 cases in Riga is 313.
Meanwhile, a number of other municipalities recorded fewer cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population has dropped to 36.3, according to LETA's estimates based on CDC data.
