Lacplesis and Maksimovs to lead Latgale Party
RIGA, Nov 26 (LETA) - Janis Lacplesis, a former mayor of Daugavpils City and currently a member of Daugavpils City Council, and Sergejs Maksimovs chairman of the Balvi Regional Council, have been elected the leaders of the Latgale Party, according to an announcement published in the official gazette Latvijas Vestnesis.
Viktors Stikuts, a member of Kraslava Regional Council, has been removed from the board of the Latgale Party.
Lacplesis and Maksimovs have also been authorized to represent the party separately. Previously such powers had been given to Lacplesis and Alina Gendele, a member of the Ludza Regional Council. Gendele stays on as the party's board member.
Other members of the Latgale Party's board include Saeima member Aldis Adamovics, Vitalijs Aizbalts, a member of Augsdaugava Regional Council, Dainis Platacis and Maruta Plivda a member of Preili Regional Council.
