RIGA, July 6 (LETA) - For Latvia's Development party, a member of For Development/For union, on Wednesday signed a memorandum on running of the upcoming parliament elections together with Vidzeme Party and Latgale Party, LETA learned from For Latvia's Development spokesman Edgars Barbaks.

"I believe that the slogan - Latvia is not only Riga! - will be important always. Our cooperation with Vidzeme Party and Latgale Party proves it once more. This is important for our political party," said the party's co-chairwoman and lawmaker in Cesis municipal council, Elina Stapulone.

"We established Vidzeme Party yo ensure that development in Latvia takes place not only in the largest cities," said Valka mayor Vents Armands Krauklis (Vidzeme Party, For Latvia's Development).

Barbaks said that Vidzeme Party and Latgale Party already last year ran for the municipal elections and were successful in Valka, Aizkraukle, Ogre and Daugavpils municipalities.

"Every municipality is equally important to us, and it is good that we will run for the elections together with politicians who know their city and municipality. These are our partners, and we know that we are defending common ideas and values," said For Latvia's Development co-chairman and Environment Protection and Regional Development Minister Arturs Toms Pless.
