Voter turnout in local elections at 39% by 4 p.m.
RIGA, June 7 (LETA) - As many as 39.24 percent of voters have cast their votes in the local elections in Latvia by 4 p.m. today, according to provisional results published by the Central Election Commission.
This includes the votes from the early voting of previous days.
At the moment, the highest voter turnout is in Riga, where 43.11 percent of voters have cast their ballots. Voter turnout in Vidzeme is 40.11 percent, in Latgale - 35.47 percent, in Zemgale 36.37 percent, while in Kurzeme 35.66 percent of voters have been to polling stations so far.
As reported, today is the official voting day in the local government elections in Latvia.
948 polling stations across Latvia will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters can vote in any of the polling stations in the municipality they are registered in.
