National Alliance wins elections in Smiltene municipality
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The National Alliance has won the local elections in Smiltene municipality, according to preliminary data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).
Counting the votes in 18 polling stations in Smiltene municipality, the National Alliance received 27.01 percent of the votes, while the second place with 23.22 percent was taken by the New Unity represented by the incumbent council chairwoman Astrida Harju.
Latvia's Green Party is next with 19.07 percent of the votes, the Progressives have provisionally received 17.04 percent of the votes, and the Vidzeme Party - 10.6 percent.
