Actual unemployment rate in Latvia down to 7.1% in March
RIGA, April 17 (LETA) - Latvia recorded a 7.1 percent actual unemployment rate for March 2025, which dropped by 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Thursday.
Compared to March 2024, the unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percentage points.
Unemployment rate for women dropped 0.2 percentage points to 5.5 percent, and for men decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 8.6 percent.
In March 2025, there were 65,600 officially jobless people in Latvia, which is 1,900 people fewer than in February 2025 and 3,300 fewer than in March 2024. Over the month, the number of unemployed men dropped by 1,200 to 39,700, and the number of jobless women dropped by 700 to 25,900.
The jobless rate registered with the State Employment Agency was 5.5 percent at the end of March, down 0.2 percentage points from February. Compared to March 2024, registered unemployment declined by 0.3 percentage points.
