The joint ticket, the price of which is EUR 2, will allow residents to use it both on Riga city public transport and on trains within Riga territory, i.e., within Zone A of the railway routes.
The tickets can be purchased effective today and they be valid from July 24.
Passengers cab only buy the tickets on Pasazieru Vilciens' website vivi.lv and mobile app Vivi Latvija.
Pasazieru Vilciens CEO Raitis Nespors says that the aim of the joint ticket is to facilitate simple and clear transfers between different modes of transport, improving the daily commuting experience.
Rigas Satiksme CEO Dzineta Innusa adds that the launch of the single ticket marks the beginning of closer integration of public transport.
As LETA reported, in March this year, the Riga City Council approved a one-year pilot project of a joint Rigas Satiksme and Pasazieru Vilciens ticket.
After the pilot project, the joint ticket might be introduced in a broader rail network.
