Rezekne receives 44 Ukrainian war refugees

RIGA, March 14 (LETA) - Rezekne has officially registered 44 Ukrainian war refugees, mostly women with children, LETA learned from the local government.
According to the Rezekne education department data, two children have already been registered with a preschool, and documents are being coordinated on another child. Two children are registered with a school.
"The biggest problems is appropriate places for accommodation. Most of the refugees registered in Rezekne are staying with their relatives," the local government said.
On February 24, Russia unleashed a war in Ukraine, targeting not only military, but also residential areas, Belarusian army entered the territory of Ukraine on March 1. More than two million civilians have been forced to flee their home and country. Thousands have arrived in Latvia.
