Funding for Ukrainian war refugees is increased by EUR 11.8 million
Riga, July 15 (LETA) - The government today allocated an additional EUR 11.8 million to local governments to compensate for the costs incurred in hosting war refugees from Ukraine.
Taking into account the previously allocated funding of EUR 11.7 million, a total of EUR 23.5 million will be allocated for this purpose from December 2024 to November 2025.
These funds are intended to compensate local authorities for the costs incurred in providing support to the Ukrainian population, including accommodation and catering, social support and education services.
The funds are planned until November, as the actual expenditure for December 2025 will not be known until January next year.
