Education Ministry has handed over laptops to local governments in order to ensure study process
RIGA, Dec 22 (LETA) - Before Christmas, local governments have received the promised 6,200 laptops, the Education and Science Ministry reported.
As the ministry reported, more than 400 schools will be able to use them in distance and everyday study process.
The first 1,525 computers were delivered to local governments in early December, and now local governments have received also the remaining computers.
In order to improve the situation with technological solutions at schools, reducing the negative consequences from Covid-19 spread in education, the ministry urged the government to allocate EUR 3.9 million for purchase of laptop computers for schools. The government supported this proposal.
