RIGA, Aug 30 (LETA) - Out of the 81 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, 41 percent were recorded in Riga, while Cesis, Jelgava and Sigulda also reported quite a few cases as well, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

The 33 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 757.

Madona, Cesis and Sigulda municipalities reported six new Covid-19 cases each, Daugavpils, Ropazi and Smiltene municipalities reported four cases each and a number of other municipalities reported fewer cases.

Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose to 117.7.
