Latvia's actual unemployment down to 6.3% in September
RIGA, Oct 19 (LETA) - Latvia's actual unemployment rate was down to 6.3 percent at the end of September, having dropped by 0.1 percentage points over the month, according to the latest Labor Force Survey conducted by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
Unemployment rate among women and men fell by 0.1 percentage points to 4.4 percent and 8.1 percent, respectively.
At the same time, the unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA) fell by 0.1 percentage points to 5.7 percent of the economically active population at the end of September.
Compared to September 2021, Latvia's actual unemployment rate dropped 0.5 percentage points in September 2022, while registered unemployment decreased by 0.3 percentage points.
In September 2022, there were 59,900 unemployed persons (20,700 women and 39,200 men) in Latvia, which is 800 fewer than in August and 4,600 fewer than in the corresponding period a year ago. Over the month, the number of unemployed men reduced by 200 and the number of jobless women decreased by 600.
