Energy efficiency project at Vidzeme Hospital gets under way
RIGA, July 13 (LETA) - Work is under way to improve the energy efficiency of Vidzeme Hospital in Valmiera, the hospital's marketing head Jolanta Vaido told LETA.
The project is intended to enhance the energy efficiency of the hospital's blocks A and B ,
The energy efficiency project provides for the insulation of Vidzeme Hospital's walls, reconstruction of the roof, renovation of entrances, reinforcing the building's basic structures and upgrading installations, preserving at the same time the hospital's historical architectural shape.
To provide a comfortable environment for patients and hospital staff, as well as to save energy, the hospital building's windows, entrance doors and ventilation systems will be replaced, Vaido said.
The entrance of block A will be reconstructed to make it accessible to people in wheelchairs and babies in prams.
The reconstruction project's design has been worked out by Virtu company and Aimasa construction firm will carry out the renovation works under the supervision of Marcuks. The construction works are scheduled for completion by the end of 2022.
The total costs of the project is EUR 3 million, which will be provided from a state support program for high-readiness projects.
